Parenting has become a daunting task for many parents in these new and challenging times. Life is going a million miles an hour and so much information is coming through what to believe? More importantly, what does your child think and believe and how are they dealing with what they ‘think’ is the truth?

Children hear stuff on TV, read things online, and overhear what adults are saying. They don’t always understand what is being said but they know what it ‘sounds like and draw their own conclusions. They can become fearful or confused and start to believe that the world is a dangerous place. Then, they start to look for evidence of what they believe, and those beliefs start to show up as negative programs or behavioral responses such as anger, aggression, nervousness, timidness, and more.

Negative behavior responses are often a child’s cry for help since they don’t know how to express themselves and how they feel.

Are you asking your child the right questions? Are you listening to what they say or correcting them to make them stronger, more like you, and consequently less than themselves? ****They start to compare themselves with this one and that one and often they will come out ‘wrong’ or second best to themselves. Children do not have the vocabulary to express themselves and neither do they understand how they feel or are invited to share their true feelings, which is why you might get the response “I’m fine” “it doesn’t matter” or “I’m going to my room”.**** We can take this out if it’s too long
